This park reaches its splendour in spring, when plants flower and the first warm sunsets arrive. ![]() Granted, these gardens aren’t like Central Park, but several courses are available: you can run around the outer perimeter or inside under tree-lined avenues. In the Giardini Indro Montanelli you will run immersed in science and nature because, in addition to a lot of green, you can find the Planetarium and the Museum of Natural History. Late August is the right time to start so… don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today! Prepare your playlist (allowed!), fasten your shoes and off you go! Here are our top 5 tips to find your ideal path to run in Milan. As spring advances and the first glimpses of summer are seen, paths and parks in Milan are taken over by “last minute runners”, easily recognisable – and of course avoidable – from their clothing: highly fashionable or loaded with layers to sweat more (totally wrong!). All you need is the will to put on your sneakers and wear a season-appropriate outfit: whether it’s early morning, during a longer than usual lunch break or in the evening at sunset, Milan can offer the right setting for a running in freedom.ĭo not wait for the fateful moment when the infamous bikini test or the attempt to shed a few extra pounds cause a steep rise in the percentage of runners in town. I am so ashamed.Even though Milan won’t have thousand of parks like Copenhagen, the kilometre-long promenade of Bari, or the breath-taking trails amongst ruins and monuments of Rome, it is still brimming of routes suitable to us runners. But you can bet your first child that I will be on top of this like … well, like someone who’s really sorry she missed the memo this year. No word yet on when next year’s Bouncing Buns Run will be, however the past four years’ races have been held near the end of June, so that seems like a pretty clear hint. The first female finisher, Nadalie S., came in fourth overall, with a finish time of 29:39, pacing at 6:49 per mile. (Note: The race doesn’t publish last names on the results sheet.), trucked the 4.35-mile race with a finish time of 27:47 and an average pace of 6:23 per mile. The 2014 winner, a 33-year-old guy named Casey K. In case you’re wondering how you might place in this race, you can check out the results from this year’s race. According to the race website, “ Clothing may be worn anywhere except in pool and hot tub.”Īnd in the ultimate twist of irony, all race participants get a race shirt when they sign up. The race entry fee includes a day pass to the resort and access to its amenities, including a pool, hot tub, volleyball and tennis courts, a poolside bar called Streaker’s, and the resort’s on-premises night club. It includes a few on-road detours, but most of the course is on wooded trails on the resort’s property. Like the Naked Ride, this race encourages participation by clothed (or partially clothed) runners, too. We also have the annual Philly Naked Bike Ride (which, by the way, will be on September 6th this year) that fetches gaggles of cyclists who ride through Center City sans clothing.
